"OpenBio is a national initiative to establish an infrastructure for handling huge data amounts within biological and medical research. The infrastructure will support collaboration at an international level and improve education and promote more efficient innovation within biology, medicine and informatics (e.g. computational science). In addition to systems for storing and processing of huge data amounts, OpenBio will provide advanced user support for establishment and development of biological/medical data banks and use of state-of-the-art tools for data analysis. OpenBio will serve as a platform for "open innovation" and evolutionary development methods will be used to develop the infrastructure.
