Talks about a proposed "public money, public code" campaign, calling for all software developed using public funding to be released under a free code license. The New Zealand government has implemented a soft version of this, in the form of recommendations to government departments to re-use and contribute back to existing free code wherever possible, and to release code developed in-house. These recommendations are formalized in the NZ Government Open Access Licensing - Software Edition (NZGOAL-SE), a software extension of the NZGOAL framework for CC licensing of publicly funded data. --Strypey (talk) 02:59, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
