P2P Foundation's MediaWiki Skin
I'm trying to understand how you modified the skin for this wiki. Looks like you're using a variant of the standard Vector skin.
I checked out your MediaWiki:Common.css file, but I suspect there are other modifications to the skin that aren't immediately obvious. At least, not to me.
Can you offer some insight?
Unfortunately, I didn't do the skin, so if you send me an email to michelsub2004 at gmail, I will forward to our wiki experts

Music as a catalyst for change
Michel. I admire the bold steps you and your friends are taking!
I'm a musician and songwriter among other things and I would love to get your thoughts on how recordings of original music and live concerts and performances will work in the new systems that are emerging. The implications of the 21st Century realm of royalty-free music are astoundingly complex against the backdrop of the RIAA, Hollywood, Wall Street models of the 20th Century.
- How was popular music used to build wealth for the 1% in the past. Was it fair?
- How shall the paradigm shift toward musical creativity forming a core good for monetized distribution networks of the future for the 99% within a commons-based model?.
- How can a new repository system be seeded with content independently from the current mainstream? Can I make a living from it?
- Is there a usable replacement for the "supply and demand equation" of the past that could apply to music production and distribution in the Commons?
We all understand that it's a tough 'market' to break into and imbalances occur frequently between producers, middlemen and consumers. I want my OzoneFarm Platform to provide ways and means for me and people like me to produce and distribute our musical goods and services to those who want and need them in the most beautiful and loving way possible. I want to change the phrase "proceeds of concerts" to the "fruits of gatherings" where our music is used to bring people into the creative process rather than blocking them out of it and making them "pay toll to the troll" to build a taller silo. I believe strongly that Music as a whole will be a major driver of some very good change in a very short time. Please have a look at some evidence and let me know what you think.

Hi CQ, you may have seen that we have a Music and ]http://p2pfoundation.net/Category:Culture] section, with the latter having material on the filesharing debate (economic impacts). In Diigo and delicious, under mbauwens, I have Open-Music-Business-Models tags, keeping track of what is written on the topic. A study in Norway has shown that at least there musicians are earning more post-filesharing than before, though of course the overall majority of musicians and artists are still precarious, as they have been through most of modern history (in traditional societies, your place was fixed and cared for, with patronage filling in the gaps). You may also check out the publications of the Free Culture Forum, of which I am a member, and the 2nd report is on business models. For general info on how to deal with IP-free shared innovation commons, see our sections on Business Models and on P2P Funding. I've never had the time to do a synthesis though. Your project looks very much in tune with what the more advanced artists are trying to achieve, and thee must be a few similar platforms out there (I've seen one in Sweden or Norway, but can't remember the name). Check out Pat Kane's true fans model, which seems to work for him. Will check your link.

TeX for Math Formulas
I forget who I was supposed to ask about getting MediaWiki's subset of TeX implemented here, as I am using it more and more for logic and math work. JonAwbrey 12:45, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
yes, that would be great!!
CopyFair License status
I was delighted when I read your chapter in Ours to Hack and to Own, and then the piece here on CopyFair licenses. Delighted both because you clearly described exactly the kind of license I had been looking for and also because I discovered I wasn't just failing in my attempts to find such a license: you clearly state that it does not exist yet.
I'm reaching out to ask if there is anything I can do to accelerate the creation of a usable license.
I have been advised that the AGPLv3 is very close to this and that it would be a greater service to the community to increase the deployment of that license than to create another. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
thanks for your offer Gordon. The most pressing issue for me would be to simply write one ! and then submit/discuss it with legal experts ...; also of use would be someone who could monitor any progress on this issue on a more regular basis ...
can you also write me at michel at p2pfoundation dot net, so I can put you in touch with stacco, who is also supposed to follow this issue more closely ?

Michel -- you are the most active contributor, of course, but I have deleted the category as it was painfully misleading! See Category:ActiveContributor
great, can't remember what was on it ..
Deleting Mathochistic Pages
Hi Michel, It appears I can only blank the pages, not delete them. Let me know if there is some sort of deletion tag I can place on pages, or if you can temporarily give me a delete button, I can do it. JonAwbrey (talk) 10:48, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
not sure what the problem is on your side, I will ask,
In the meantime, I have deleted the four:

If you blank, I see that in the recent pages which I check every other day, and I can delete them from there,
let's see if simon knows what's going on
Captcha failure seems to prevent editing?
I was attempting to correct the links on the Common Weal page, but I seem to be rejected with the message "Incorrect or missing CAPTCHA".
However, the Captcha box itself says "CAPTCHAv1 is shut down. Redirect site owners to go.co/recaptcha/upgrade"
I will alert our techies to this, thanks for letting me know
main page - how to comment?
I noticed the link to "introductory videos" seems to expand with a forward slash in front of the apostrophe, and misses the page it means to reach (I can reach it if I manually delete the slash).
I was going to fix it, but since the page is locked for edits from me at least, comment on this, but the discussion page redirects to Talk:The_Foundation_for_P2P_Alternatives, which also seems odd...
it certainly helps, alerting Stacco Troncoso about this,
Invitation to collaborate on implementing of p2p distribution and pricing solutions via a smart price tag in a free market.
I've been reading your work and I like a lot of your ideas and approach. You have a lot of insight into areas i've been exploring from a different angle. I want to reach out to you and request your time and attention (which will be counted as investment credit in the hOEP Project (hOurs Equals Price) if you reply. Your reply will constitute human verifiable proof that you spent 15 minutes to read this and reply. You will be eligible for 15 minutes of personalized time credit share in the project and decision making and can re-spend your time on goods and services where offered by the seller.
I've been exploring the theoretical and economic evolution that would result from introducing into any free market a "smart price tag". The smart price tag design and protocols allows buyers and sellers to agree on an alternative price formulae and final purchase price for any good or service so that different people are charged different amounts on an individualized basis. With this price tag a seller could offer a mixed price in dollars and any other abstract verifiable metric such as utility value. The abstracted metric would be converted into dollars only for convenience at the cash register. For example, a seller could offer an alternative price discount based on units of "hours of your personal time" as an abstracted metric for use in sale and the smart price tag would accept and negotiate a $/hr exchange rate for calculating a final price at the cash register. In practical use, this would allow a price tag to be written as "$25 + 1hr" where the "1hr" portion is converted into dollars based on persons individualized $/hr rate. So a person earning $10/hr would pay "$25 + 1hrX$10/hr = $35". Another person earning $50/hr would pay "$25 + 1hrX$50/hr = $75" for the same item. A very rich person who's time is worth $500/hr would pay "$25 + 1hrX$500/hr = $525" for the product item being sold. When used cleverly in a free market, this pricing strategy allows a seller to make money and reduce financial inequality at the same time as a side effect of sellers seeking individualized profit. I'm working on the economics of how to make the most profit using this technology while reducing financial and other forms of inequality as a side effect of sellers and buyers seeking individualized profit. The Smart price tag can also be p2p individualized to let buyers or sellers propose and use their own custom metrics in price tags. A seller or buyer could offer to buy and sell things at a price based on a persons carbon footprint or community reputation, or dollars or personal time or hour of the day or any other human verifiable metric which can be used as a number in a price tag pricing formulae. My work is exploring how the technology of a smart price tag can profitably be used by sellers and buyers who choose to accept it freely as a pricing setting exchange mechanism in a free market with the assumption that if it makes personal profit in some market situations then buyers and sellers will use it to some degree.
I apologize if this is the incorrect format or method of reaching out to you. If this is unwanted information or at the wrong place or wrong format, I will spend an equal amount of my time under your direction to remedy my mistake. If this is an acceptable way to engage with you directly, and the topic warrants your time and attention, I would humbly request an additional 1 hour of your time or ask what you would charge me to buy 1 hour of your personalized time and attention for this matter. Would you agree to an exchange rate of 10 hours of my time for 1 hour of your time? (hint, I have spent 10 yours reading, reasoning, and thinking, and writing about P2P Foundation which I can verify on request with human verifiable links to upvotes on your videos, contributions to pages on your wiki, and other.). If you found this worth reading and worth your time already and want to continue to invest I would ask you to consider just the first page with the slideshow link and p2p survey questionnaire discussed on the first page of the new contributor orientation and intro at ∴% hOEP + (hOurs Equals Price) + on-boarding (start here) @ https://goo.gl/mg4WLK . The survey linked to in the first page of the document includes a question for you to fill in how much time you contributed to the project, your $/hr rate, and a test to verify you spent your time reading, reasoning, and writing on the topic. The form results are your receipt and can be used to verify your time and attention as investment shares and re-spendable value time. I request, from you, a public (anonymous) quote on the slideshow survey and material that I can use to share with others if you are willing to publicly answer the questions about the project that ask for advice and feedback.
This is certainly worth experimenting, but unfortunately, I have absolute no time for this. Perhaps you could post this in our p2p forums and see if it gets any traction there. I am at michelsub2004 at gmail an can forward from there to our mailing list. Given the current overflow of initiatives, it is quite hard to get attention these days. Have you talked to Michael Linton, he would have an interesting perspective ?
Hello! Is it okay to ask on how many admins are there on P2P Foundation Wiki? Am I a bit too early to ask to become one? My general goal here is to protect this wiki from vandals and spammers from disrupting this extraordinary, fascinating and interesting project! DWindsor 16:08, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
My own biography
dear Dove, there are no individual bios on that page. You can add yourself to our biographical section by adding Category:Bios to your page
Michel, I created a couple of pages and added tags to them eg category:Belgium. I can see the pages I created in the category overview only when I'm logged in, but they are not visible when I'm not logged in. They are not listed in the overview when I'm not logged in either.
The pages I'm talking about are: https://wiki.p2pfoundation.net/NewB_Bank
Is this normal? I don't want to create more pages if I'm doing something wrong.
I can see them both, so I don't know what is wrong. I will copy your comment to Simon Grant and Javier, our webmaster, who are more techsavvy than I am
