"The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (from the German Left Party) is preparing some interesting meetings on the commons and around.


First is an international workshop "Beyond Ostrom", 8.-11. November 2013 in Berlin: http://beyondostrom.blog.rosalux.de/

Second is a call for contributions (deadline 1st of december 2013) concerning the 100th Anniversary of Luxemburg's “The Accumulation of Capital: A Contribution to an Economic Explanation of Imperialism”. In this work she developed the figure of "land grabbing" (Landnahme) as a continuous precondition for capitalist surplus production, whereby "land grabbing" can be understood more generally as "enclosure of the commons". These texts will be used as the basis for an international workshop to be held on 7.- 9. March 2014, in Berlin.
