"Pirate Parties International (PPI) is the umbrella organization of the international Pirate Party movement. PPI supports and coordinates[1] foundings of further national Pirate Parties. The first of such parties was the Swedish Piratpartiet, founded on January 1, 2006. The organisation also serves for internal communication, operating international forums and mailing lists. The current co-chairmen of PPI are Gregory Engels[2] and Jerry Weyer[3], after former US party chairman Andrew Norton, Samir Allioui and Patrick Maechler stepped down from the role."
