Description

"How to unite unions, platforms and government through algorithms?

Introduction of Fredrik Söderqvist at the World Interdisciplinary Network for Institutional Research (WINIR) conference as part of a roundtable "ICT, open societies and new institutions".

Fredrik is an economist at Unionen which has over 620,000 members, 10,000 of whom are self-employed, making it Sweden’s largest private sector union and the largest white collar union in the world. Fredrik works on issues regarding structural change and how to adjust the generous Swedish welfare model to changing labor markets. He is an expert to the Swedish Government’s Digitalization commission and was named one of the future 99 most powerful people in Swedish politics in 2016.

Fredrik gives an interesting talk about 'what is new' in the platform economy and how unions, platforms and regulators can work together to use platform labour for a better society.

Speakers on the roundtable: José van Dijck (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences), Haroon Sheikh (Dasym Investment Strategies) & Fredrik Söderqvist (Unionen)." (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We3LV-xD9ok&feature=youtu.be)
