What is the P2P Foundation all about?
Introduction to the shape of the new p2p economy:
- new collaborative practices are emerging [1]
- undertaken by a new type of 'ethical' economic agents, [2]
- who are mutualizing their productive forces [3]
- practicing 'open' (i.e. IP-free) business models [4]
- with access to new types of distributed funding [5]
- and are change institutions accordingly through Law and Policy
- aided by,New value metrics and accounting practices [6]
- P2P infrastructures for cooperation [7] and distributed manufacturing [8]
Here's a summary of what has been happening in 2007:
- the wiki and the blog have achieved cruising speed, with the wiki nearing one million pageviews and the blog achieving B-list status (mid-authority blog)
- we have created a legal 'Foundation' (Stichting) in the Netherlands
- we are now an online cyber-collaborative with regular contributors, especially in the blog
- we have started regular conference tours, mostly in Europe
We would be very happy to count on further collaboration by all those who are in favor of the open/free, participatory/p2p and commons-oriented initiatives.
