I began my journey in 1945 at Bonham, Texas, the son of middle class parents. Raised in a extremely religious environment, average student, mildly rebellious trying to balance two lives, one religious and one secular school life. Married at 17 I went into the electrical trade, attended apprenticeship school and through hard work and study became a construction project manager. Spent three years in the Army and due to my GT score was assigned to a unit that managed nuclear warheads in Germany where my first child was born, I was 22 years old. My lady and I had two more children and now have seven grand children. I have started two business, an electrical apprenticeship school and in 2006 started a non-profit outreach for those with substance abuse issues. This NP began in a two bedroom house and now has expanded to include;educational programs, a career center with job and vocational training, job placement and coaching, state licensed outpatient counseling center and a dental clinic. I am only a high school graduate but read and research continuously to discover methods to overcome addiction and mental illness. I have raised 1.5 million for the NP since it's inception, and received the Spirit of Sherman Award for the contribution to our community. Totally to the community which includes the two colleges, United Way, major companies, local and state politicians and a Rotarian.
