Bio

"Dimitris has been born in Heraklion, Crete at 1981. He moved to study Information Systems Engineering at the University of Surrey, UK where he completed his Master of Research with an EPSRC scholarship.

Worked for almost two years at the R&D of NOKIA UK and then returned to Greece where he continued working as a software engineer at an IPTV company.

Since 2009 had multiple awakening moments and started seeking information for a future where our society could live in a more fair and just way. Got involved with the Greek chapter of the Zeitgeist Movement and then with the squares movement in Greece. Later got involved in tolabaki - hackerspace and in 2013 co-organized the first CommonsFest in Heraklion and continued the journey with the festival since then. Since 2015 has been trying to explore the idea of building a sustainable business around free software and open source hardware called CommonsLab."
